A man shot a pair of criminals who were trying to rob him late on Thursday near Houston, Texas.
The man, who police said has a concealed weapons permit, was walking home when he was approached by a pair of men. One of the men had a shotgun, the Houston Chronicle reported. The pair then attempted to rob the concealed weapons permittee when he opened fire on them.
One of the robbers was killed in the altercation while the other was rushed to the hospital. Their target was left unharmed.
"The shots sounded like they were fired by somebody who knew what they were doing; very distinct and deliberate," Marcel Smith, who heard the shooting, told KTRK. "From my balcony, I could hear the deputies and the robbery victim talking about it all."
Police are still investigating the situation but no charges have been filed against the concealed weapons permittee.
