Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber admitted to the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee that Obamacare contained tax hikes, contradicting the Obama administration's narrative that it was not a tax.
When Congressman Mike Turner (R., Ohio) pressed Gruber on the issue of Obamacare taxes, the former health care adviser–under oath–conceded that the unpopular health care law included "some taxes."
"Obamacare is a large piece of legislation with many parts," Gruber began.
"And is one of those parts a tax, Mr. Gruber?" Turner asked.
"There are some taxes in Obamacare, yes," Gruber said.
When Turner pointed out that the U.S. Supreme Court had concluded that Obamacare's individual mandate was a tax, Gruber said he disagreed with the ruling.
"I don't agree with their conclusion about the mandate," Gruber said.
