Home sweet prison, apparently.
An inmate who escaped prison turned himself back into jail to escape 20 below zero temperatures in Kentucky.
Robert Vick, an inmate serving a six year sentence for burglary, escaped a minimum security facility on Sunday. He walked to a nearby motel and received a free meal from a family who felt bad for him. "He was hungry. The dude knocked on our door, we gave him a ham and cheese sandwich, a hot chocolate" the woman who gave him the food told WHAS. She also said that he broke into a nearby barn to take shelter.
The next day, he returned to the motel and asked them to call the police so he could turn himself in. Once in custody, he was taken to the hospital and treated for frostbite on his fingers and toes.
