New Hamas textbooks introduced into schools this fall describe the Torah and Talmud as fabrications and labels Zionism a racist movement. The new textbooks also fail to recognize Israel or mention the Oslo Accords. Israel Hayom reports:
The new Hamas textbooks characterize the Torah and Talmud as "fabricated," and describe Zionism as a racist movement whose goals include driving Arabs out of all of the area between the Nile River in Africa and the Euphrates River in Iraq, Syria and Turkey.
Palestine, meanwhile, is presented as a state for Muslims encompassing the land between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea. […]
The books also distort recent history. Talking about Israel's military operation against Hamas in November 2012, the books claim that rockets fired from Gaza "sent 3 million Zionists underground for eight days" (a lower number of Israelis went into shelters sporadically over the course of the operation), that Tel Aviv was hit (rockets were fired at Tel Aviv, but none actually hit the city) and that an attempted rocket strike on the Knesset building in Jerusalem "forced the Zionists to beg for cease-fire."
