On Thursday, Rudy Giuliani appeared on Varney & Co. to discuss the United States’ troubled relationship with Russia and NSA leaker Edward Snowden:
STUART VARNEY: How about Edward Snowden? Let's move on to another character in the news today. We do not know where he is, we absolutely do not know where he is at the moment and I have a feeling that maybe we're being laughed at.
RUDY GIULIANI: You don't have to wonder about that. You don't think that Putin is laughing at us? You don't think that-- I thought Putin was laughing at us when he met with Obama a week ago, a week and a half ago. Here we, we give up the nuclear defense of part of eastern Europe way back when Obama comes into office to reset our relationship with Russia. In other words, we pay for the house and we don't get the deeds and since then we have reset our relationship with Russia, it's much worse.
VARNEY: You are a harsh critic?
GIULIANI: Aren't I correct? It's much, much worse relationship. We've got them completely really interested in the Middle East and Syria and can't seem to influence them on Snowden. This is a simple situation, this guy is suspected of and now charged with a felony and should be returned to the United States, he doesn't have a passport. He doesn't have an American passport.
VARNEY: We can't find the guy. What does that say about us? We don't know where he is. I'm not just talking the media.
GIULIANI: Maybe we can't find them. Do you think that Putin has lost him? Putin used to run the KGB, Obama was a community organizer? Who do you think is going to do a better job of finding him? The head of the KGB or a community organizer?
