Trump to Attend National College Football Championship Game

BY:

President Donald Trump is planning to attend the national college football championship game between Georgia and Alabama in Atlanta on Monday, according to a new report.

The president, First Lady Melania Trump, and Vice President Mike Pence plan to attend the game, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

The report, which is based on information from three people with knowledge of the plans, added the president will be hosted by Pence's chief of staff, Nick Ayers.

It is not known whether top Trump allies from Georgia, including Department of Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue and Sen. David Perdue (R.), will join.

At Wednesday's press briefing, press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders congratulated Georgia and Alabama, referring to the teams being "from two great states, both in the heart of Trump country."

The championship game will be held Monday at 8 p.m. EST.
