Actor Paul Sorvino didn't mince words Tuesday about Harvey Weinstein and the alleged sexual misconduct and blacklisting against his daughter Mira, saying he would "kill the motherfucker" if they crossed paths.
Mira Sorvino, who won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for the 1995 film Mighty Aphrodite, is one of dozens of women in the entertainment industry who has accused Weinstein of sexual misconduct. The movie mogul's career is in ruins and he faces possible criminal charges.
Her father spoke to TMZ Tuesday as he left a restaurant in West Hollywood.
"He ought to hope that he goes to jail, because if we come across, I think he'll be lying on the floor," Sorvino said, adding, "Somehow. Magically."
Sorvino predicted Weinstein would go to prison.
"If not, he has to meet me, and I will kill the motherfucker," he said. "Real simple."
Oscar-winning director Peter Jackson has said he passed on casting Mira Sorvino for the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy because Weinstein's company had smeared her as difficult. Sorvino said she rejected Weinstein's advances and her career was hurt as a result.
The elder Sorvino said he didn't know about any of the allegations against Weinstein until they became public in October. He said he was furious and called his daughter a "wonderful human being" who didn't deserve to be treated in such a way.
"This pig will get his comeuppance. The law will get him. He's going to go to jail and die in jail," Sorvino said. "But if he doesn't, Harvey, come here, I have some news for you."
His TMZ interviewer could be heard chuckling.
"I'll just slap him around. I won't do anything terrible," Sorvino said before getting into his car.
Sorvino is known for his roles in Goodfellas and the longtime television series Law & Order.
