MSNBC's Kerry Sanders Helps Rescue Dolphin in Florida

September 11, 2017

MSNBC reporter Kerry Sanders tried desperately to save a dolphin in Florida Monday after Hurricane Irma hit.

Sanders was on the beach at Marco Island where he and the man tried to save a small dolphin, which seemed to be disoriented and tired. The dolphin was having trouble fighting the rough surf coming in, and Sanders commented on its apparent exhaustion.

Later, Sanders walked further into the water with the dolphin to try to get it to deeper water so it would have a better chance of not being rebeached.

Less than an hour later, MSNBC went back to Sanders, who was busy again, this time saving a larger dolphin with others nearby. The group all helped carry the large dolphin into the water. Sanders could not be heard this time.

Anchor Willie Geist said that Sanders had reported back earlier that the smaller dolphin had successfully made it into the water and did not get beached again.
