Israel's Labor Party postponed a key election because it landed on the same day as a Britney Spears concert.

The Labor Party was set to vote for a new chairperson on July 3rd, but had to reschedule because American pop icon and national treasure Britney Spears will be performing at Tel Aviv's Hayarkon Park on the same day.

"For some reason, the Labor Party couldn’t compete with her popularity that day, so they decided to push their vote back a day," Foreign Policy reported.

A spokesperson for the Labor Party told Times of Israel that they had difficulty recruiting security guards for the upcoming vote because most of them were already scheduled to work the concert. Street traffic was also a concern, and pushing back the vote would "make it easier for people to reach polling stations" the spokesperson said.

Seven candidates are in the running to beat incumbent, Isaac Herzog. It remains to be seen whether any of the candidates will attend the Britney concert.
