Booker Aide Under the Bus

Democratic Newark mayor Cory Booker’s communications director is resigning in the wake of scandal that followed Booker’s appearance on Meet the Press last week. During the interview, Booker indicated the Obama campaign’s attacks on Mitt Romney’s onetime firm Bain Capital were unfair. According to the New York Observer’s Politicker NJ:

Sources say [Communications Director Anne Torres’s] resignation comes amid internal administration strife in the aftermath of Booker's appearance on Meet the Press.

Booker said he found campaign messaging on both sides of the aisle, including the Obama Campaign against Bain Capital, "nauseating." The remark infuriated Team Obama, who wanted Booker to represent the views of the president as a surrogate of the campaign.
