New kid on the 24-hour sports block, Fox Sports 1, is attacking ESPN with programing such as Crowd Goes Wild hosted by octogenarian Regis Philbin.
To make CGW stand out, Philbin is adding Guyism.com ex-pat Katie Nolan, who will carry the torch once held by Kelly Ripa and Kathie Lee Gifford.
Nolan and Gifford already share one thing in common.
Nolan adopted the Jenna Marbles model by combining beauty with foul language and inappropriate behavior. The difference is Nolan applies this approach to the news.
Nolan even acknowledges the shade thrown her way because her schtick so closely mirrors Marbles. But anyone with a sense of comedy history will see how Nolan's persona also draws from another source.
Earlier this year Nolan made the Interwebs gurgle after a Twitter beef with E from Entourage, revealing E is as much as a tool as you think he'd be.
@mrkevinconnolly aw baaabe I missed you!

Nolan is likable enough, and if her journey from YouTube to cable brings Fox Sports beaucoup ratings, expect MSNBC to be on the lookout for the next Katie Nolan.
