Emily Ratajkowski, Heroine

Emily Ratajkowski's status as an American treasure was cemented last night when she sat next to a #FakeNews reporter from the failing New York Times.

Ratajkowski, who has as pure a heart as any, was rightfully disgusted by the nasty reporter's attack on one of the classiest First Ladies in history. She followed her initial tweet with two more gems, first calling the reporter out for "slut shaming" and then stating, correctly, that the reporter was peddling "disgusting sexist bullshit."

Ratajkowski, of course, got results. The New York Times reportedly reprimanded the reporter for referring "to an unfounded rumor regarding Melania Trump."

"At a party last night, a Times reporter who does not cover Washington or politics, referred to an unfounded rumor regarding Melania Trump," said the Times in a statement to Politico. "The comment was not intended to be public, but it was nonetheless completely inappropriate and should not have occurred. Editors have talked to the reporter in question about the lapse."

I think it goes without saying that the Times has not yet done enough, but I'll lay out a few of the reasons.

It did not name the reporter, giving cover to whoever was sick enough in the head to utter this disgusting lie. It also called the attack an "unfounded rumor" rather than a disgusting lie. And then it added useless tidbits such as how the reporter "does not cover Washington or politics" and how the "comment was not intended to be public" as if either made the behavior any more acceptable.

Thank god for Ratajkowski, who in one tweet gave the world a look into the belly of the beast that is the fake news media establishment.

She also pointed out last night how dated the "urban" category at the Grammys is, which I think is an undeniably good point.

I have long said that I would put politics aside for Ratajkowski, positing that I would probably even have voted for socialist Bernie Sanders if she had asked me to. We all probably would have.

Despite my suggestion, however, Sanders didn't bring Ratajkowski on board and went on to somehow lose to Hillary Clinton.

I don't know what exactly her position would be, but it wouldn't hurt to have Emily in the White House. Maybe a special assistant to Melania?
