Athletes and celebrities joined the American Federation for Children in an advertising campaign to promote school choice.
The one-minute ad, unveiled last week in New York City to coincide with National School Choice Week and Super Bowl XLVIII celebrations, encourages Americans to get active in an effort to expand educational options.
"By the end of this message, another child will drop out of high school," the ad begins. "Our system is failing our children. Too many kids aren’t getting the quality education they deserve."
"Let’s build a system where every child gets a great education," it continues. Every child, no matter their zip code, no matter their income, no matter their race, no matter what. Let’s give parents the power to choose the very best school for their child."
"Join us, it’s time to help every family, it’s time to help every child, it’s time for educational choice," it says.
The public service announcement features former NFL player Deion Sanders, WNBA star Lisa Leslie, Kathie Lee Gifford, Vivica Fox, Stephen A. Smith, Jalen Rose, Lou Gossett, Jr., Keshia Knight Pulliam, and others.
The ad will be aired nationally over the next month.
