St. Lucie County, Florida resident John Dougherty wore black underwear over his face and robbed a local bank, the Palm Beach Post reports.
The 73-year-old Dougherty told officials that he committed the crime because he was on a fixed income and had gambled away his own money on horses and Texas Hold ‘Em.
Dougherty’s underwear mask was not enough to prevent his eventual capture, however, as a bank robbery detection device was hidden in the $1,800 of stolen cash, according to a statement.
