NBC’s ‘One Percent Problems’ Climate Activist

Anne Thompson on Nantucket: 'You should see the erosion on Baxter Road, it's just absolutely breathtaking'

NBC Chief Environmental Affairs Correspondent Anne Thompson discussed the U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change report Friday on Andrea Mitchell Reports.

Thompson put forth the usual warnings of apocalyptic environmental consequences if the world does not burn less coal or oil.

However, the segment was noticeably silent on the recent slowdown in warming over the past 15 years.

In a moment of unintentional elitist humor, Thompson decried the erosion of Baxter Road on Nantucket Island, calling it "absolutely breathtaking":

ANDREA MITCHELL: We're talking about also the Barrier Islands, changing topography, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia.

ANNE THOMPSON: Cape Cod, Nantucket. I was in Nantucket this summer. You should see the erosion on baxter road. It's absolutely breathtaking.
