Maya Angelou is the fifth most trusted person in American, trailing four actors.
According to Reader's Digest 100 Most Trusted People in America, more Americans trust Angelou, Tom Hanks, Sandra Bullock, Denzel Washington, and Meryl Streep than the entire U.S. Supreme Court, a number of current and former government officials, several Fortune 500 chief executive officers, and four Nobel Prize winners.
The five are also among the 64 people Americans trust more than President Obama. Others ranking higher on the list than the president include Tim Tebow, the Rock, both Mannings, Dr. Oz, Johnny Depp, and George Lucas.
Depp, for instance—next to be seen in "The Lone Ranger"—is more trusted by the American people than Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Samuel Alito.
