Mary Katharine Ham Schools O’Reilly

Takes Fox News host to task on opposition to lenient marijuana laws

Hotair.com’s Mary Katharine Ham took Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly to task Monday night over his staunch opposition to legalization of marijuana, citing large support among Americans to make laws on the subject more lenient.

"Fifty-six to fifty-eight percent of American are pro-marijuana legalization…70-plus percent of Americans are pro-medical marijuana legalization," Ham said.

When Ham said that she believes marijuana could be used in moderation, like alcohol, the exchange got testy, with O’Reilly accusing Ham of "pettinfogging the issue" and claiming that alcohol was just as much of a problem.

Ham replied, "Would you like to be a woman of temperance Bill? Is that your next crusade?"

O’Reilly deflected the question of whether he would join a Temperance League, and would not answer Ham’s question on whether he believed the enforcement of current drug-related laws was working effectively.
