CNN's Chris Cuomo: 'It's Not About the Truth for the President'

CNN's "New Day" co-host Chris Cuomo seemed to suggest during a Monday panel that President Donald Trump didn't care about the truth when pushing the theory that former President Barack Obama wiretapped his campaign.

CNN media analyst Bill Carter and "New Day" co-host Alysin Camerota argued that Trump's accusations were based on "propaganda" from certain media outlets.

Camerota criticized media outlets InfoWarsNewsmax, and Heat Street as "not reputable."

"These are not reputable, award-winning, solid sources," she said.

"Leads you to one conclusion that it's not about the truth for the President," Cuomo said.

CNN senior media correspondent Brian Stelter argued that Trump's news sources, including radio host Mark Levin, cherry-picked information.

"The Levins, the Breitbarts — they're cherry-picking information and they're leaving out inconvenient information," Stelter said. "For example, that CNN, The New York Times, and other outlets haven't been able to confirm the existence of these FISA warrants."

The Obama administration would have needed a warrant in order to wiretap Trump's campaign. Heat Street reported on Nov. 7, 2016, that two sources claimed the Obama administration sought in October a FISA warrant to investigate Trump campaign staffers who had ties to Russia.
