Parsons The New School of Design in New York City has canceled a workshop that would have been led by fashion John Galliano, who was fired from Christian Dior in 2011 following an anti-Semitic rant.

Galliano was fired from his former position as head designer of the French label after a video surfaced in 2011 of the designer delivering an anti-Semitic rant.

"I love Hitler," a drunk Galliano told a group of Italian women in the video. "People like you would be dead. Your mothers, your forefathers would all be f—ing gassed."

Parsons had planned a four-day workshop with Galliano, but canceled the event after the school and the designer were unable to determine certain conditions for the workshop, the Associated Press reports:

The school said in a statement that his appearance was to include "a candid discussion about the connection between his professional work and his actions in the world at large." It said it canceled the workshop after the two sides couldn't reach consensus on the conditions of the conversation.
