Rep. Paul Ryan said Wednesday the questions about Democratic National Committee's removal of the word God from the party platform should be directed to the Obama administration, in an interview with "Fox and Friends."
GRETCHEN CARLSON: Is this the politically correct influence, to take the word God out of the platform?
REP. PAUL RYAN: I think it’s rather peculiar. It’s not in keeping with our founding documents, our founding vision. I’d guess you’d have to ask the Obama administration why they purged all this language from their platform. There sure is a lot of mention of government. I guess I would just put the onus and the burden on them to explain why they did all this, these purges of God.
In the interview, Ryan goes on to call the removal of pro-Israel language from the platform "tragic."
A number of Obama campaign officials and Democratic leaders have struggled to answer questions about the changes in the party platform.
