Rep. Bill Cassidy Slams Landrieu For 'Insulting' Louisiana Voters

Senator Mary Landrieu (D., NH) caused an uproar Thursday night after an interview in which she said one of the reasons Louisiana voters are down on her and President Obama is the racism and sexism of the South.

Her opponent Republican opponent, Rep. Bill Cassidy lambasted Landrieu on the Kelly File: "I wish she’d focus more on policies instead of insulting us."

Cassidy believes Landrieu’s comments show how out of touch she is with her constituents and that "Senator Landrieu now represents Washington, D.C. that's probably what the people she goes to at cocktail parties believe."

Host Megyn Kelly asked for Cassidy’s take on the timing of these comments, "Do you believe this is a desperation play to inject racism and sexism into this race a few days before the election?"

"Now, I would say we reject the president because his policies have been bad for our state and bad for the country," Cassidy said. Landrieu’s support for President Obama and the policies developed in Washington are the real reasons for her comments. "If she actually lived here, understood what people in Louisiana thought, she would understand that."
