In a new ad Ending Spending hit Michelle Nunn for using a photo of former President George H. W. Bush against his wishes.
Nunn released an ad last week showing a photo of her alongside the 41st president.
Nunn served as the CEO of Bush’s Points of Light Foundation before temporarily stepping down to run for Senate and often references her work with the foundation in campaign ads.
However, President Bush endorsed Perdue in September and previously criticized the Nunn campaign for using his photo.
Bush’s spokesman, Jim McGrath, called Nunn’s latest ad "disappointing" and "disrespectful."
"Michelle and her team have been clearly, repeatedly, and consistently told that President Bush did not want them to use his photo as part of this campaign," McGrath told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
‘Apparently, the Nunn team feels they can repeatedly disregard the former president’s wishes, which is very disappointing because it’s so disrespectful."
