MSNBC guest host Joy Reid felt Gov. Chris Christie (R., N.J.) made his apologies for the bridge scandal gripping his administration too much about himself on Now With Alex Wagner Friday.
"That is the "Lie to me" part which gets to your column that you wrote, Jonathan Capehart," she said. "Which was that Christie really did center a lot of this on me. 'They lied to me. I'm hurt. I'm wounded.' And really sort of refocused a lot of the outrage on himself."
That analysis seems like a reach in an attempt to criticize a Republican, but then again, Reid's role isn't to stir the pot on a show that displays far more nods of agreement than substantive debate.
Reid made her remarks in the context of praising frequent panelist Jonathan Capehart's Washington Post column decrying what he considered Christie's me-first tone in his press conference.
