CNN host Piers Morgan suggested to his panel Monday night that perhaps Syrians and Iranians are easier to negotiate with for President Obama than Republicans in Congress.
Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich paused before replying to Morgan's eyebrow-raising statement.
"Just think about that comment, and you'll understand why Barack Obama is in so much trouble on Capitol Hill," he said.
PIERS MORGAN: Mr. Speaker, are you proud of what the Republican Party has done tonight?
NEWT GINGRICH: I think it is a much better future than giving in to a president who refuses to negotiate, refuses to meet and who finds it easier to deal with Russians, Syrians and Iranians, than with Americans.
MORGAN: Maybe they're easier to deal with.
GINGRICH: Just think about that comment, and you'll understand why Barack Obama is in so much trouble on Capitol Hill.
