Fox News host Mike Huckabee, a pastor, former Arkansas governor, and 2008 GOP presidential candidate, said on Saturday that he would not have a problem with putting the 2016 Republican convention in Las Vegas, Dallas News reports.
"I don’t have any problem with it at all. Look, Las Vegas is a phenomenal city for conventions and conferences," said Huckabee.
"My gosh, the Southern Baptist Convention met there – I’m trying to remember how many years ago. I made the statement then: I went to Las Vegas with a $20 bill and Ten Commandments and didn’t break either one. The fact that you go to Las Vegas doesn’t meant that you’re doing something that is indefensible to your late mother’s memory," he said.
Some on the right have voiced objections to holding the convention in Vegas due to the prevalence of escorts, prostitution, gambling, and the general image of the city
