Melania Trump Speaks to Supporters at Trump International Hotel

President-elect Donald Trump and his wife Melania visited the Trump International Hotel in Washington, D.C. on Thursday.

During a welcome reception for Trump and the soon-to-be first family, the president-elect pushed Melania to speak to the crowd of supporters.

"Would you like to say a couple of words?" the president-elect asked his wife, who shook her head no, prompting laughter from the audience.

"Why don't you say a couple of words," Trump insisted, making way for the future first lady.

"It is great to be here and thank you all for your support. Tomorrow we start the work," Melania began.

She concluded her brief remarks with Trump's campaign motto.

"We will Make America Great Again," she said.

The president-elect and his family arrived in Washington on Thursday afternoon to participate in festivities surrounding the inauguration. Trump will be sworn in as the 45th president of the United States at noon on Friday.
