McCarthy: Obama 'Doesn't Know Very Many People in the House'

House Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy (R., Calif.) has been unimpressed with President Obama's bipartisan efforts, pointing out Sunday on CNN's "State of the Union" that, in part due to his Senate background, he simply does not know many people in the House of Representatives.

McCarthy criticized Obama's approach as being overly political and not avid enough in finding common ground with Republicans.

"The president always likes to play politics, so I think he'll continue to play that political game," he said. "I haven't seen him talk to enough people. He doesn't know very many people in the House. He's come into the House Conference ... only once before. He should come and listen and communicate and try to find where we can find common ground. Where can we bring that accountability back to government? That's what Republicans are looking for."
