Rep. Maxine Waters (D., Calif.) attended a star-studded June fundraising event for a school with Scientology ties.
Oh No They Didn’t first posted photos of the event from the New Village Leadership Academy’s Facebook page, which feature Waters and a host of celebrities including Will Smith and Jada Pinkett-Smith, will.i.am, and Robin Thicke at a benefit for the school.
Located in Calabasas, Calif., the New Village Leadership Academy employs "Study Technology," the teaching methodology developed by L. Ron Hubbard and is attended by the daughter of Tom Cruise—one of Scientology’s most prominent adherents.
Smith and Pinkett-Smith are the school’s founders.
