MSNBC's Chris Matthews took a playful shot at fellow pundit Ed Schultz's devotion to Sen. Bernie Sanders (I.,Vt.) Monday night, saying Schultz was "jumping up and down" for Sanders drawing large interest in his bid for the Democratic nomination.
"Bernie got a big crowd out there in Denver," Matthews said on Hardball. "Ed Schultz was jumping up and down about it tonight."
Sanders, a self-described socialist, has been a frequent guest on Schultz's The Ed Show for years, and Schultz has made no secret of his support for Sanders' brand of left-wing populism and railing against the 1 percent. He described Sanders as "on a roll" Monday and said the following Sanders has on the trail should worry the Hillary Clinton campaign.
