Joe Scarborough Slams ‘The Hill’ for False Story

MSNBC "Morning Joe" host Joe Scarborough responded to a story from The Hill on Tuesday that mistakenly reported him as having said that Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore was bringing out his "inner liberal."

"Donald Trump and Roy Moore are bringing out my inner liberal. What is happening?" The Hill inaccurately reported Scarborough saying.

It was actually co-host Mika Brzezinski who repeated the words as she quoted a tweet from Bill Kristol.

The "Morning Joe" host and former Republican responded to the story by tweeting, "Umm, this was a tease where we were quoting a Bill Kristol tweet. Despite the stupidity of my former party, there is no inner liberal inside of me. (Not that there's anything wrong with that.) My party just went batshit crazy."

Following the tweet, The Hill updated its story at 1:59 p.m. EST, noting "An earlier version of this story misattributed remarks to Joe Scarborough."
