Fox News host Laura Ingraham on Monday night slammed politicians for leaving the United States with borders "more wide open than Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein's robe."
The conservative commentator was premiering her new primetime show, "The Ingraham Angle," when she delivered a scathing critique of politicians for running over the American people with big government.
"The politicians were supposed to be helping you; instead they helped themselves," Ingraham said. "They were elected to run the government, not to run you over with it. Millions of Americans voted for [President Donald] Trump because they had had enough."
"They were tired of being bullied by politicians and the so-called experts who gave us endless wars, saddled us with $20 trillion in debt, and left us with a border more wide open than Harvey Weinstein's robe," Ingraham added.
The New York Times and the New Yorker both published explosive reports earlier this month about multiple women who accused Weinstein of sexual misconduct and harassment that spanned at least three decades, and accusations against him continue to emerge.
Ingraham, a friend of President Donald Trump's, sat down with Chief of Staff John Kelly on her first show.
