Ed Schultz is Out of Touch

MSNBC host refers to millionaire guest as the 'classic American that is going to be hurt by the shutdown'

MSNBC host Ed Schultz called Dirty Jobs host and Ford spokesman Mike Rowe "the classic American that is going to be hurt" by the shutdown and a possible default Wednesday during an interview on The Ed Show.

Rowe's net worth is estimated by one website to be $35 million, which would place him in the upper tier of the 1 percent. The elitist pundit Schultz was clearly out of touch with middle America to then refer to him as "the perfect guy that the Democrats have been fighting for."

ED SCHULTZ: Nice to meet you.

MIKE ROWE: It's humiliating and chilling but a pleasure to be here. Thank you for having me.

SCHULTZ: Humiliating? Oh, come on.

ROWE: No, I'm talking about my outfit.

SCHULTZ: You are the classic American that is going to be hurt, number one, by the shutdown, number two, by default. And I don't have any confidence that these guys are going to come to an agreement. You are the working guy in America, you probably hunt and fish. You're the perfect guy that the Democrats have been fighting for. What policies have the Republicans put on the table that would get a guy like you to say, you know what, I'm going to stand on stage with Mitt Romney?
