Detroit City Council member JoAnn Watson argued that since the citizens of Detroit voted President Barack Obama in office, he should bail out the fiscally strapped city at a city council meeting Tuesday night.
According to WJBK Detroit that first reported on Watson's comments, three-quarters of Wayne County voters voted for a second Obama term.
There is a history of Washington bailing out cash-strapped cities. President Gerald Ford spotted $2 billion to New York City in 1975 to prevent financial trouble.
It is projected that Detroit will run out of money by next summer.
