Dem Kidnapper To Be Arraigned Tomorrow

Massachusetts State Rep. Carlos Henriquez (D., Suffolk), who allegedly kidnapped a former lover earlier this month, is set to be arraigned on Tuesday morning in Cambridge District Court. The Boston Herald reports:

"Henriquez, 35, of Dorchester, is currently free on $1,000 cash bail, having already pleaded not guilty in Roxbury District Court to separate charges he held 23-year-old college student Katherine Gonzalves of Somerville against her will July 8 as they drove around the Back Bay in a rented Zipcar and threatened her when she tried to get away."

Arlington police subsequently charged the legislator with three counts of assault and battery, kidnapping, witness intimidation and larceny — the latter because Gonzalves claimed he took her cell phone from her.
