Former senator and potential Democratic presidential candidate Jim Webb discussed the "political paralysis" in Washington during a speech in Richmond on Tuesday.
According to Webb, much of the paralysis comes from the Democratic Party, which has lost its way.
"The Democratic Party has basically turned into a party of interest groups," Webb said.
Voters among the traditional Democrat base turned against their party in the past election, primarily because they feel alienated from the party they once believed represented their interests.
"They feel the Democratic Party doesn’t want them," Webb said.
