Aspen Festival Crowd Cheers When Capehart Moves On From Questions About Lynch Meeting With Clinton

July 1, 2016

The crowd at the Aspen Ideas Festival cheered wildly on Friday after liberal blogger Jonathan Capehart moved on from questioning of Attorney General Loretta Lynch about her private meeting with former president Bill Clinton.

"I could not be more proud of that work and I could not be more proud to present that work to the American people when this matter is resolved, and we can let people know the conclusion to this investigation," Lynch said.

There was a two-second pause before Capehart said, "Moving on."

The crowd burst into applause.

Lynch was recently a part of a political firestorm when it came to light that she and Bill Clinton had a private meeting inside her plane. Lynch said that grandchildren and golf were the topics discussed in the meeting. However, it was seen as inappropriate due to Lynch's involvement in the federal investigation of Hillary Clinton's private server.
