Conway: 92 Percent of Two Campaign Reporters’ Tweets Are Negative About Trump

Donald Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway charged the campaign’s embedded reporters with bias against the candidate on Monday, stating that "92 percent" of the tweets from two of them in particular are negative about Trump.

Conway was repeatedly pressed by panelist Mark Halperin for Trump claiming that the first debate’s moderator, Lester Holt, was a Democrat. Holt, the anchor of NBC Nightly News, is reportedly a registered Republican. Conway defended Trump’s remark by saying he was trying to convey the Democratic-friendly bias of the media.

She suggested the panel look at the Twitter feeds of the "quote, objective" reporters traveling with the Trump campaign as proof.

"These are not profiles in courage, and this is not journalism," she said. "There are people who cover our campaign who actually just slander our candidate on Twitter ... 92 percent of at least two of our embeds’ tweets are negative towards Donald Trump. Why are they on our campaign plane?"

Conway said that positive stories like large crowds and rising polls for Trump are being ignored by them.

"Excuse the Trump campaign if we feel like we can’t get a fair shake from certain people," she said.
