A day after reporters barraged her with questions on the State Department’s lack of transparency on the Keystone XL pipeline evaluation, spokesperson Jen Psaki came with answers. The press secretary finally confirmed how many agencies have filed their recommendations to the department regarding the pipeline project.
"We have heard from all eight agencies," Psaki said. "We are now proceeding with our review."
The spokesperson refused to answer inquiries about the content of the agencies’ recommendations and whether every agency provided substantial reviews.
"I’m not going to characterize them, because we treat them as internal material," Psaki said.
The main critic of Psaki’s reluctance to answer basic questions, AP reporter Matt Lee, was still not satisfied with the information shared.
"So we are at a wax-paper transparency," Lee said.
Psaki remained unwilling to divulge any more details.
"I’m not going to go to that level of detail."
