Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) appeared on "The Ed Show" this evening to discuss the fiscal cliff negotiations in Congress. Pelosi answered a variety of questions related to the negotiations including whether the fiscal cliff and debt ceiling should be addressed together:
SCHULTZ: Do you think any of these negotiations should be connected to the debt ceiling?
PELOSI: No.
SCHULTZ: Is that a line in the sand?
PELOSI: It makes sense. We have what was called the "McConnell Rule," I think it's now known. The the president puts forth what he wants and unless of two-thirds of the Congress overturns it, then that's how we'd go forward.
