A majority of young Americans trust the U.S. military to "do the right thing" most or all of the time, according to a new Harvard survey. The same cannot be said for the media, the president, or the federal government.
In the new Harvard Institute of Politics survey, 54 percent of Americans aged 18 to 29 said they trust the U.S. military to do the right thing "most" or "all" of the time.
The military was the only institution that a majority of respondents said they trust to do the right thing most or all of the time.
Institutions that did not fare as well in the survey include: the president (39 percent "most" or "all of the time"), the Supreme Court (40 percent), Congress (18 percent), the federal government (22 percent), and Wall Street (12 percent).
The worst performer of the 10 options? The media.
A mere 11 percent of respondents said they trust the media to do the right thing most or all of the time; 37 percent said they trust the media to "never" do the right thing.
