Senior Editor for the Washington Free Beacon Bill Gertz discussed his report on military cooperation between North Korea and Cuba Wednesday on AM 560's "Big John & Amy Show."
Yesterday reports surfaced Soviet era weapons were discovered by Panama on a ship originating from Cuba and destined for North Korea.
A statement from Cuba indicated the weapons were being sent to North Korea for repair and were to be returned to the communist nation.
Gertz said the main concern among national security experts is that the discovery constitutes a new route for weapons transactions between Cuba and North Korea, potentially providing Pyongyang a new avenue to skirt U.N. Security Council sanctions.
