The U.S. Capitol was on a brief lockdown Friday morning after unconfirmed social media reports said that a woman made it through security with a gun.
Authorities ordered those inside of the Capitol building and Capitol Visitor Center to shelter in place.
Planned votes on the House floor were delayed until the situation was resolved.
