House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) has taken to shaming fellow Democrats into contributing to help take back the House of Representatives in November, Politico reports:
Pelosi met with about ten senior House Democrats at the headquarters of the Democratic Congressional Campaign committee Tuesday night and issued a blunt assessment: The rank-and-file wasn't raising enough cash to fuel her underdog plans for a takeback of the House, and a handful of Dems hadn't lived up to their targeted pledges and needed, if necessary, to be shamed into action.
Then the former speaker handed the leaders—including Steny Hoyer (D-Md.), Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.), Jim Clyburn (D-SC) and Xavier Becerra (D-Calif.)—three specially printed cards to be distributed to members, with a deadline of this Friday, end of business, according to a person present.
Card One: "Yes, I will contribute [blank] by June 30th."
Card Two: "No I will not give in June" but I pledge to give [blank] by [blank].
Card Three: "No, I am not on the team."
