Hillary Clinton offered another automated moment in her quest to become the second-oldest president ever elected.
Clinton visited the Hill on Tuesday and received a detailed briefing from Secretary of State John Kerry and Secretary of Energy Ernest Moniz following a call from President Obama the night before. When MSNBC’s Kristen Welker walked alongside her and her entourage to see what she thought of the briefing, Clinton clammed up and delivered a very odd, Clinton-esque response.
"It was an excellent briefing. Thank you," Clinton said stoically.
Clinton’s tepid response provided yet another awkward moment between her and the press. Visibly uncomfortable, Clinton put on a smile and continued walking while ignoring other questions directed at her.
Thomas Roberts could hardly contain his amusement. He poked fun at Clinton’s uneasiness.
"Oh, Kristen," Roberts said, laughing. "Just keep walking, keep smiling, keep walking, keep smiling,"
Welker reported that congressional Democrats believe Clinton be critical to garner support for the deal to ensure Republicans in opposition do not get a veto-proof majority.
