Rep. Mike Rogers (R., Mich.) discussed a variety of issues concerning U.S. national security Thursday on "Special Report."

On Syria, Rogers said the U.S. has lost credibility with the Syrian opposition, complicating Secretary of State John Kerry's efforts to "coral" the various rebel groups to produce a unified diplomatic solution.

Rogers also slammed NSA leaker Edward Snowden, saying the former Booz Allen Hamilton contractor is "no whistleblower" and is betraying the United States. The Michigan congressman charged that  Snowden may be reporting in Chinese state media on U.S. espionage efforts against China. Additionally, Rogers added there are outlets for whistleblowers within the national security apparatus which Snowden chose not to exercise.

Congressman Rogers concluded the interview by affirming the merits of the NSA surveillance program and revealed the House Intelligence Committee is continuining the Benghazi investigation, bringing in "relevant CIA officers" for "another round" of testimony.
