J Street Doesn't Watch the News

As rockets fired by government-sponsored Palestinian terrorists rained down on Israeli citizens Tuesday, the liberal fringe group J Street maintained via Twitter that the only thing Palestinians want is peace.

Just as a rocket from the Gaza Strip landed in Southern Israel, J Street took to the social networking site to promote its "borders and security strategy" based on the Israel’s 1967 armistice lines, which experts say would leave Israel vulnerable to attacks. The group also declared that the "gap" between the Israelis and Palestinians on this issue "is small."

At the same time, the Israeli Defense Forces spokesperson noted: "Another rocket fired from ‪#Gaza‬‬‬‬ hit southern ‪#Israel‬‬‬‬, home to more than 1 million Israelis."

As six rockets destroyed Israeli territory this morning, the self-dubbed pro-Israel, pro-peace J Street touted an article from the parody website The Onion that maligned Mitt Romney.

Just 15 minutes later, the IDF tweeted sobering news: Breaking: 6 more rockets fired from ‪#Gaza‬‬‬‬landed in southern ‪#Israel‬‬‬‬, home to more than 1 million Israelis.

Earlier this afternoon, as Israel continued to suffer from the worst Palestinian rocket attacks in months, J Street maintained that the Palestinians "want peace" and touted the practicality of immediately resuming peace negotiations.

"Peres: "They, like us, want peace. I believe that it is possible to renew negotiations w/ the Palestinian leadership," the group exclaimed at 2:44pm.
