A gun attack at a Tel Aviv shopping center left at least four people dead and several wounded on Wednesday.

Israeli police said that four individuals died in the shooting, which took place at Sarona Market in the center of the Israeli city. The incident occurred Wednesday night around 9:30 p.m. local time. An Israeli police spokesman said that two suspects had been captured following the attacks.

At least two gunmen were said to be involved in the shooting. AFP reported that the two attackers were Palestinian cousins from the area of Hebron.

Later, residents of Hebron were said to be shooting celebratory fireworks in response to the gun attack, according to the Times of Israel

Israeli authorities said they "neutralized" two attackers, according to the Associated Press. Video posted to social media appeared to show an Israeli police officer shooting at one of the gunmen following the attack.

Micky Rosenfeld, a foreign spokesman for the Israeli police, said that authorities had mobilized in the area where shots were fired. He later wrote on Twitter that police captured two suspected "terrorists" and that the shops and food market had been evacuated.

Israeli authorities have struggled to cope with a barrage of attacks carried out on Israeli citizens by Palestinians in recent months.
