GOP Senators Write Letter to Iran: Any Deal Not Approved by Congress Won't Stand

Terrorist group Boko Haram has pledged allegiance with the Islamic State. The growth of IS shows the growing threat of Iran and its state sponsorship of terrorism.

Sen. Tom Cotton (R., Ark.) and 47 Republican senators wrote an open letter to the leaders of Iran saying that the U.S. Congress needs to approve any nuclear deal.

Senate Democrats have also said that any nuclear deal with Iran must be approved by Congress–but the White House is asking them to stand down on that statement.

National Security Adviser Susan Rice has already said Iran will have a "robust" uranium enrichment program as well as a "sunset clause" of ten years on the current nuclear talks. Cotton warned that this is dangerous to the United States as well as the world.
