Democratic National Committee chair Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D., Fla.) had some trouble remembering who she is supporting in the effort to recall Republican Wisconsin governor Scott Walker (R., Wis.), Kenosha News reports:
"In six days, we are going to make sure that Scott Lehman..." Wasserman Schultz said Wednesday, during an appearance at the Democratic Party field office in Racine.
The crowd quickly interrupted her, and Wasserman Schultz was fast on her feet in correcting herself — of course, it was Tom Barrett for governor and John Lehman for state Senate that she was endorsing in the unprecedented June 5 contest…
Wasserman Schultz predicted that come Tuesday, Barrett and Lehman — with the help of the mobilization efforts of 21 party field offices across the state — will make sure that the last several months’ recall efforts are not for naught.
A recent poll from Marquette Law School has Walker leading Barrett by 7 points. Wasserman Schultz is one of just a handful of prominent Democrats who have actually travelled to Wisconsin in support what increasingly appears to be a lost cause.
