A Delaware Democrat state representative was arrested for driving under the influence for the second time since 2010 on Monday, according to police.
Delaware Online reports:
State Rep. Brad Bennett was arrested on a DUI charge in Wilmington after sideswiping a police car and leaving the scene Sunday, city police said today.
This is the Dover Democrat’s second DUI arrest since October 2010.
Bennett was driving south in the 2900 block of N. Market St. around 8:35 p.m. when his SUV allegedly hit a parked police car, which had responded to an unrelated call, Sgt. John O’Connor said. …
"I made a mistake that will not happen again," Bennett said in a statement after his 2010 arrest.
